Fure’s Cabin

I recently visited Roy Fure’s cabin, in the Bay of Islands. Fure, Scandinavian gold seeker, game hunter, trapper, and angler, used his carpentry skills to construct a beautiful cabin, windmill/food cache, and outhouse. In addition to the sophisticated craftsmanship, his cabin also had electricity which was generated by the windmill, a luxury in this remote area of Alaska in the 1940’s.
